Overview

Cat Ba National Park is a special nature reserve of Vietnam, located in Hai Phong City, on Cat Ba Island – the largest island in the archipelago of the same name.

Established in 1986 with an area of over 17,360 hectares (including both forest and marine areas), the park is the heart of the Cat Ba World Biosphere Reserve. It is notable for its diverse ecosystems, including tropical rainforests, mangroves, coral reefs, cave systems, and coastal bays, as well as numerous rare and endangered species of flora and fauna—especially the endemic Cat Ba Langur. With its distinctive limestone karst terrain, majestic landscapes, and rich biodiversity, Cat Ba National Park is a premier destination for ecotourism, scientific research, and nature-based travel in northern Vietnam.
