In accordance with the 2025 Work Plan, the Department of Cultural Heritage (DCH) organized a capacity-building workshop to enhance awareness and professional expertise in the protection and value promotion of World Cultural and Natural Heritage in Dien Bien Province. The workshop was attended by nearly 200 delegates, including representatives from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MOCST), the Department of Cultural Heritage, Cat Ba National Park, as well as experts, relevant agencies, and press and media outlets.

Through keynote papers and interventions presented by experts, scientists, management authorities, and representatives from Cat Ba National Park, the workshop facilitated extensive direct exchanges and in-depth discussions. Delegates focused on addressing emerging challenges in the protection and promotion of cultural and natural heritage values. A primary focus was placed on digital transformation within the heritage sector, as well as the strategic integration of Fourth Industrial Revolution (Industry 4.0) technological advancements into the preservation and enhancement of both cultural and natural heritage.

Within the framework of the program, delegates conducted field inspections of prominent historical relic sites at the Dien Bien Phu Strongpoint and engaged in direct knowledge-sharing regarding the protection and promotion of local cultural and natural heritage, thereby gaining valuable insights to inform management practices. The Heritage Sector Training is held annually with the objective of continuously raising awareness among leadership personnel regarding the legal framework, ensuring professional requirements are met while remaining closely aligned with practical realities to enhance the efficacy of managing, protecting, and promoting heritage values. Furthermore, the outcomes of this training will serve as a vital practical foundation for proposing and refining policies related to World Cultural and Natural Heritage.

Active engagement in professional training programs is a clear testament to Cat Ba National Park’s commitment to the sustainable preservation and safeguarding of the World Natural Heritage site. These efforts contribute significantly to the overall development of Hai Phong City and the nation at large.
