In implementation of Plan No. 213, Cat Ba National Park—in coordination with the Center for Sustainable Development Education and local schools in the Cat Hai Special Zone, including Xuan Dam Primary & Secondary School and Nguyen Van Troi Primary School—organized nature-based experiential activities within the STEM education program at the Cat Ba Archipelago Biosphere Reserve for students at the Park.

Throughout the program, students explored biodiversity, the natural habitats of various flora and fauna, the role of forest-marine ecosystems in maintaining ecological balance, and the vital importance of nature conservation in Cat Ba. Their everyday textbook knowledge came to life as they directly observed, asked questions, and interacted with conservation officials.
A special highlight of the activity was the students’ direct participation in the re-release of Tokay geckos that had been researched, cared for, and deemed fit for re-introduction into their natural environment. Through this experience, they gained a deeper understanding of the value of rescue and release work, as well as each individual’s responsibility in protecting wildlife.

These activities serve not only an educational purpose but also inspire a love for nature, foster environmental awareness, and instill a sense of pride in the local homeland. As an annual initiative of Cat Ba National Park, the program aims to cultivate a young generation that understands, loves, and acts responsibly toward nature. This effort contributes to disseminating conservation values and elevating Cat Ba’s standing on the sustainable ecotourism map of both Vietnam and the world.
