With the approval of the Hai Phong City People’s Committee, on the morning of June 8, 2026, a working session was held at Cat Ba National Park between the Management Board of Cat Ba National Park and an expert delegation from the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Hanoi—led by Ms. Dana Brabcová, Second Secretary—and the Czech Tourist Club. The meeting aimed to exchange experiences and explore cooperation opportunities in developing ecotourism and outdoor tourism linked to nature conservation.
Also attending the working session were specialists from the Hai Phong City Police, as well as reporters from the Hai Phong Newspaper and Hai Phong Radio and Television Station who came to cover the event.

Representing Cat Ba National Park, Mr. Nguyen Van Thiu, the Park Director, provided a brief overview of Cat Ba National Park, its management and biodiversity conservation efforts, and ecotourism development, as well as the orientation for developing eco-friendly tourism products in the coming time.

At the working session, the Czech experts introduced the Czech Republic’s outdoor tourism trail marking system—a proven model that has been effectively applied for 130 years, contributing to ensuring tourist safety, enhancing accessibility to natural attractions, and promoting sustainable tourism development. This system is considered one of the exemplary models in Europe for managing, guiding, and supporting tourists in ecotourism, hiking, and nature exploration activities. Currently, this model is being applied by 04 countries.

The two sides discussed the possibility of applying the Czech Republic’s experience in building and perfecting the signage system and eco-tour routes, enhancing the visitor experience, while ensuring harmony between nature conservation goals and sustainable tourism development. The discussions also focused on the potential for cooperation in training, sharing outdoor tourism management experiences, and capacity building for the staff involved in conservation and ecotourism development.
On this occasion, the delegation presented the leadership of Cat Ba National Park with specialized publications, materials, and several supporting tools for trail marking and guiding to serve the management and development of ecotourism. This activity demonstrates the interest and cooperative goodwill of the Czech side, while simultaneously helping the Park access international experiences in building trail systems, enhancing tourism experiences, and promoting sustainable tourism development.

Following the working program, the delegation conducted a field survey of several ecotourism routes and sites at Cat Ba National Park to understand the natural conditions, current status, tourism infrastructure, and potential for future cooperation.
The working session took place in an open, friendly, and constructive atmosphere, contributing to strengthening the cooperative relationship between Cat Ba National Park and international partners, while simultaneously opening up new opportunities for sharing experiences and applying advanced management models towards sustainability.
